Yesterday was sad day at the Eichenauer-Kowalska household. On the north side of our house there used to be these giant laurel bushes. They were tall and provided lots of shade, privacy and hiding spots for the cats. Our neighbors, however, hated the bushes and had them cut down. We totally understand because they were taking way too much of their yard and their side of the bushes wasn't as pretty and green as our side. Still, we are sad to see them go. In the long run this is probably for the best because we will gain lots of extra space. The neighbors will put up a fence and we plan on taking out the concrete driveway and planting a garden in that area. For now, it just looks sad and naked with out them...
Oh, that is such a bummer! Your view out to that greenery was really lovely. But maybe once the fence goes up you can plant some beautiful climbing vines to cover the fence. My mom has something really great and fragrant on one of her fences -- I'll ask her what it is.
