A week ago (I'm getting really bad at posting these in a timely manner) we celebrated our first Easter with Aria. She is a little to small to go egg hunting, but we did dress her up like a little Easter egg. It was a quiet day with just family. Ben and Allegra and my mom came over for a traditional Polish Easter breakfast. The day before we drove out to the Polish store in north Portland and bought some needed supplies. We ate bialy barszcz (white borscht) with hard boiled eggs, polish kielbasa, horseradish beets, bread, and other items (I can't think of them all). The next day I drenched Joe in water in celebration of Smigus Dingus (a pagan celebration observed in Poland). It was all games and fun until Joe sneaked up on me and got me back! We can't wait till next year for Aria to be more into egg hunting and getting wet the next day:-)
