At the end of September our family took a trip to the Midwest to visit some friends we have not seen in a really long time and, also, to visit family. We started out by flying to Chicago. That's where Shelley and Todd Murphey live, our dear friends whom we haven't seen in a really long time. Shelley and Todd live in an awesome neighborhood called Lakeview, which is surrounded by great restaurants, walking trails and playgrounds. They are truly awesome hosts and we loved visiting them and getting to know Chicago. I love the downtown and I love the architecture. We look forward to visiting them again soon.
After staying in Chicago for 3 nights, we rented a car and drove 4 hours south to Indiana to visit Aunt Mary and Uncle Doug. They live in the middle of nowhere, but their property is big and beautiful with acres of forest walking trails and a lake to swim in. It is so serene and relaxing there. Aria enjoyed playing with their many animals and swimming in the (cold) lake. We have decided that we need to visit them a lot more often, especially when Aria is a little older!
Beside the long travel hours, the trip was wonderful and relaxing! We have learned that Aria can stay in the car seat for more than 20 minutes, and that she is a lot more patient than I have given her credit for. Traveling with her is a pleasure and she is a real trooper! Here are a few pictures from the trip in chronological order.
