The Holidays are fast approaching and it has been way to long since I posted anything. It's notbecause we have nothing to report (far from it) but because we have been extremely busy helping my mom build a food cart. Yes, Mira has decided to open her own little food cart selling soups and latkes and pierogies. She has been unemployed for two years and after trying to find a job without fruition, she has decided to open her own business. Joe with some help from his dad and brother (but mostly with my help) has been building it all by himself. Since he has a full time job and he wants to spend as much time as possible with Aria, the building has been going slow. We were hoping to open by Christmas, but it now seems impossible. I will post pictures as soon as the thing is built, but for now here is a little something about what's going on with Aria.
Aria is getting 5 new teeth... mostly molars, but also some canines. She is not herself. She wants to nurse all the time, doesn't want to eat much, wants to be held constantly and has had an upset stomach for a few weeks now. We feel bad for her and we wish that there was something we can do, but the only thing we can provide is comfort. Ahhh, growing pains... Other than that she is talking up a storm. Repeating words after just hearing them once and then remembering them days later. She is putting very short and simple sentences together. Her task every day, twice a day, is to feed Smoke and she does it diligently and with pride. Smoke is starting to like her and she is so gentle with him. Aria also likes to do dishes and help while we cook or bake. She stands on a chair by the counter and will wash plates or cups and put them away in the drying rack. She also loves measuring cups and stirring ingredients together. I have now learned not to tell her that we are going to see someone like her friend Aubrey or her Bubbe way before we actually leave, because she will stand by the door and want to leave right away. If I say to wait, she gets VERY impatient. Aria is so loving. She just loves to give kisses and hugs, especially if someone has been hurt. She gently swaddles her babies and then rocks them and shushes them to sleep. We are so proud of her kind heart... We are staying at home for the holidays and are looking forward to opening presents with her on Christmas morning. It will be so much fun!
