Easter 2012

Easter this year was great!  We spent it with my family in Kedzierzyn- Kozle, my home town. We had lots and lots of sit downs meals which included lots and lots of eggs and pork sausage.  It is usually warm (or warmer) during Easter in Poland, but not this year!  It was chilly and rainy.  Even Smigus Dyngus (a holiday where you get hosed down with water for good luck  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Monday ) wasn't that much fun because it was so cold.  Still we had lots of fun hanging out with my cousins and aunts and uncles.  Usually we try and celebrate Easter Polish style in America, but this year we included the trip to the church to bless our food.  It is a tradition where in a decorated basket you put all the major things you eat throughout the year.  You then head over to the church and the priest, after a short prayer, blesses you and your food for the year the come.  Aria has not been in church before, and so I was a little concerned she might get scared, but she really enjoyed herself.  She liked the ceremony and kept talking about it for a few days afterwards.  Here are some pictures I took throughout that week:
Easter is coming, time to dye some eggs!
