The 4th Trimester

It has been three months since Simon was born.  The 4th Trimester as they call it. The time when days are blurred into nights, and all your activities surround diaper changes and feedings.  Only recently are we noticing some sort of pattern evolving.  Naps are becoming more constant and we don't have to nurse every 2 hours anymore.  Simon is getting bigger and stronger, holding up his own head and working on core muscles.  He has lots of nicknames now - Baby Spaceman, Sime, Szymcio, Simon the Strong, or Simon the Tall which is not so catchy, but Simon is really long (tall) for a baby, so Joe has decided that he will become the tallest Eichenauer.  He is a super mellow baby and enjoys just hanging out with us and watching us from his bouncy chair.  He fits right in.  Aria loves her baby brother and tells us so daily!  She helps with diaper changes and soothing him when he gets upset.  I bet they will have lots of fun together when he gets a bit bigger.

Since Simon was born we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hanukkah.  The Holidays went by fast and were stress free.  I guess it helps if you just had a baby and no one really expects much from you :)

Time truly does go by so fast!  Aria's birthday is coming up in a few months and she will be 5 years old.  She has started ukulele lessons and seems to enjoy those.  We also signed her up for acting classes, which she really loves.  The class is learning the play Charlotte's Web.  Aria got to see the performance live.  As a matter of fact, she has seen a few plays so far and has gone to some story telling events.  She really seems to be into the performing arts.  I hope her passion for it lasts.  More posts to come soon :)
