Goodbye Kimi
May 4th 2015 was a sad day in our household. After 2.5 year together we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Kimi. She came to us late in life (she was 11 or so) and 2.5 years just doesn't seem like enough time together. About 3 month ago Kimi started to feel not so good and her health declined very quickly from that point. Towards the end she stopped eating and drinking and so we decided it was best to put her down. We got to bury her body in our yard under the lilac tree. We all cried and miss her terribly, but we will forever remember her as a happy, friendly, "not a single mean bone in her body" dog! We originally adopted Kimi from the humane society because Aria had a fear of dogs. When she was very little a few unfortunate encounters with dogs (one which included biting) got her terrified of them. It was so bad, that when Aria saw a dog across the street, she would panic. So, we figured that the best way for her to get over that fear is to be around a friendly dog all the time. We searched for a dog that was family friendly, good with cats and other dogs. Kimi came up and she was perfect, except for her age. We weren't sure we wanted an old dog. But after much thought we decided to go for it, and it was the best decision we made. Kimi moved right in with us and Aria got over her fear of dogs over night. In the beginning Kimi would even sleep on Aria's bed with her. The cats also adopted Kimi as one of her own. Especially Mr Percy, who treated her like his mama and slept with her as much as she would let him.
Kimi, we will never forget you! Thank you for all you have done for us!
